Interim Care Orders
At the start of care proceedings, an interim care order can be put into place. In this case, the council, with the family court’s permission, can take a child into care for up to 8 weeks. If this has happened, we suggest you call our emergency number 01708 766155.
Care Orders
A care order is given by the family court and allows the council to take a child into care. They decide where a child lives and where they are educated. They stay in place until the child turns 18.
Can I appeal a Care Order?
Yes, you have within 21 days of the order being made to appeal it. If this is your situation, we suggest getting advice from a professional.
